We have been appalled by the senseless loss of life, destruction, and suffering of unarmed civilians in Israel and Gaza.
Innocent people are paying the price of this conflict, with women, children, and older people particularly vulnerable.
As a humanitarian organisation, we were already concerned about the poverty civilians in Gaza were facing. But the ongoing conflict is severely worsening access to basic necessities needed to survive.

CARE’s response in Gaza and the region
CARE has worked in the West Bank and Gaza for over 70 years. Right now, our incredibly dedicated team is working around the clock to support the urgent needs of people in Gaza, with a particular focus on women and girls. We have been able to reach over 300,000 people with humanitarian assistance.
We are prioritising safe water and medicine, as well as providing short-term shelter kits to people whose homes have been damaged or destroyed.
CARE condemns in the strongest terms all violence against civilians on all sides. Innocent Palestinians should not bear the cost of the response to the horrible act of terror perpetrated against innocent Israelis.
