CARE International has a fantastic global reputation and a proven track record supporting women to fight poverty and overcome crisis. At CARE International UK, we have a sector-leading history of securing significant institutional funding from partners such as the FCDO, but as government priorities have changed, we are strategically diversifying our income. A new focus on major giving is a key part of this.

This transformative new role will lead major giving fundraising, working closely with the Director of Fundraising and Communications and Head of Partnerships to launch a new high-value major donor programme for CARE International UK. As part of the role, you will manage a portfolio of donors, securing 5 and 6+ figure and multi-year donations, growing the prospect pipeline of high-net-worth individuals and developing a mid and high-value programme. This will have a year one target of £150k+, growing ambitiously over the next three years and contributing to the overall Partnerships team target of £5.7m.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious fundraiser to work collaboratively with peers across CARE and shape a new programme for CARE International UK.

To be successful in the role of Senior Major Giving Manager, you will need:

  • Proven experience in philanthropy fundraising, with significant track record in generating 5 and 6-figure + relationships with HNWIs
  • Ability to perform brilliantly as a relationship fundraiser, with the skill to build deep connections, and to distil complex information and messaging for HNWIs, family trusts and staff.
  • Experience of building prospect pipelines and evidence of managing complex relationships with funders.
