A powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake has devastated huge areas of Myanmar.
Hundreds of people are still missing. Many more have no access to the safe shelter, clean water, food and medical care they need to survive.
Myanmar was already facing a severe humanitarian crisis with a third of the population in need of humanitarian aid. Now the situation is catastrophic.
Survivors urgently need critical support.

How CARE is responding

CARE is responding to the crisis as a member of the Disasters Emergency Committee, providing immediate support to impacted communities.
We are in Myanmar right now, working with local partners, women and their communities to identify priority needs and deliver critical support to those who need it most.
With your help, we are prioritising:
- Food and clean water
- Safe shelter, blankets and tarpaulins
- Cash or vouchers for families to cover urgent needs
- Heath and medical services
We urgently need more funds to reach more people and help save more lives. Please give now.
CARE in Myanmar

Myanmar is already a country in crisis. Before the earthquake, 19.9 million people were in need of humanitarian aid. The situation has now worsened to devastating levels.
CARE has been working with communities in Myanmar since 1995 - improving access to healthcare, food, water and hygiene. We continue to provide vital support where it’s needed most.
We’ve seen first-hand that whole communities benefit when we support women in times of crises, with the impacts felt not just for a day, but for a lifetime. Together, lets support people in Myanmar to recover from this devastating crisis and build a safer and better future.
