By taking part in the Vietnam to Cambodia Bike Ride, you won’t just get to experience cycling through rural settings in two incredible countries. We’re also arranging a unique project visit where you’ll get to find out more about the impact of microfinance through Lendwithcare’s local partner in Cambodia. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet entrepreneurs supported through Lendwithcare loans in person.
The route
The Vietnam to Cambodia Bike Ride will kick off in the incredible Ho Chi Minh City where you’ll meet your fellow cyclists and take in the sights of the city before departing on a once in a lifetime cycle challenge!
Starting with a 50km ride, the group will head out from Ho Chi Minh into the heart of the rural Mekong. We’ll start upping the distances as we cycle around the Mekong River and through southern Vietnam before turning north and heading to the Cambodian border at Chau Doc. After a visit to Phnom Penh, we’ll leave the Cambodian capital and head to Battambang where we’ll enjoy a well-deserved day off after seven days in the saddle! We’ll spend the day with Lendwithcare’s local partner in Cambodia, BORVOR. This will provide us with the unique opportunity to meet with hard-working and passionate small business owners working to improve their lives.
We’ll finish our adventure with a morning bus transfer and a final afternoon of cycling into the Angkor Wat world heritage site. Taking in the sights and sounds of this historic site on the meandering cycle trails around the complex is an experience you’ll never forget! We’ll then come back together in the evening for a meal in the heart of Siem Reap to celebrate the friendships forged and the incredible achievement of cycling over 500km together.
