Terms & Conditions for CARE's Better Future Prize Draw
1. Organiser
This prize draw is organised by CARE International UK, registered charity number 292506, with its registered office at 1 St. John's Lane, London, EC1M 4AR
2. Eligibility
- There is no obligation to enclose a donation to CARE to be eligible for the prize draw, but we would highly value your support.
- The prize draw is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 or over.
- Employees of CARE International UK, their immediate families, agents, or any third party directly associated with the administration of the prize draw are not eligible to enter.
3. Entry Period
- The prize draw entry window opens on 12th April 2025 and closes at 23:59 on 1st September 2025. Entries received after this time will not be considered.
4. How to Enter
- Entry is free; no purchase is necessary.
- To enter for free: On a blank sheet of paper, or postcard, participants must write or type “CARE’s Better Future Prize Draw” along with your full, legal name, address (no post office box addresses accepted), city, post code, telephone number (optional) and email address. Post to: CARE’s Better Future Prize Draw, CARE International UK, 1 St. John’s Lane, London, EC1M 4AR. Full information on how to enter by post can be found here
- Alternatively, participants can enter online by clicking on the 'Enter now' button above.
- Multiple entries are not permitted – only one entry per person will be accepted.
5. Prize
- The prize draw will have three prizes:
- First Prize: £6,000 cash.
- Two runner up prizes: £1,000 cash
- Prizes are non-transferable, and no alternatives will be offered.
- CARE International UK reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond our control make it necessary to do so.
6. Winner Selection and Notification
- Three winners will be selected by a random draw performed by a computer process within one month of the prize draw entry window closing.
- The winners will be awarded in the following order:
- First name drawn will receive the First Prize of £6,000.
- The second and third names drawn will receive the runner up prizes of £1,000 each
- Winners will be notified via email or telephone within 28 days of the draw using the details provided.
- If a winner does not respond within 14 days of being notified, the prize will be forfeited, and another winner will be selected in accordance with the process described above.
7. Publicity
- The winner agrees to the use of their name in any publicity material, as well as their entry number.
- The winner's name and county can be obtained by sending a stamped addressed envelope to CARE International UK at the above address within 60 days after the closing date of the prize draw.
8. Data Protection
- Any personal data provided during the course of this prize draw will be processed in accordance with CARE International’s privacy notice
- Personal information collected from entrants will be used solely in connection with the prize draw and will not be disclosed to any third party except for the purpose of operating the prize draw and fulfilling prizes where applicable, unless you have opted in to receive further information from CARE International UK.
9. General
- CARE International UK reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the prize draw where it becomes necessary to do so.
- By entering the prize draw, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions, which may be amended or varied at any time by us with or without notice.
- These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
10. Limitation of Liability
- CARE International UK will not accept responsibility for entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged, or delayed in transit, regardless of cause. This includes, but is not limited to, postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems failure, satellite or network issues, server errors, or computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
- Insofar as is permitted by law, CARE International UK, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of CARE International UK, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
